In August last year I posted a collection of ebook format converters I'd picked up from various places online. This is a repost of those, plus another half a dozen for various formats, and various platforms.
I've used the ones with a * and can vouch for their abilities/safety (a statement which cannot be applied to any newer versions found on any of the originating websites). The others, especially the non-Windows progs, you will have to take on faith, though all files have been virus-scanned before being uploaded.
Windows
Reader Studio* converts html, txt or rtf into lit(Microsoft Reader format).

ABCLit Converter v2.02* exports lit files to pdf, html, hlp, rtf, chm, txt(ANSI), txt(Unicode), doc(MS Word), wpd(WordPerfect 6-12), rb(Rocket eBook), pdb(Palm), fb2(FictionBook) and clipboard.

NEW ConvertLIT 1.8 (Read the README.txt)
Runs from a Command Prompt or MS-DOS Prompt window:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
If you extracted Convert Lit to your "My Documents" folder then you would type: cd "\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents" where username should be replaced by the user name you have used to log on to Windows.
Type: clit

NEW Word plugin* - puts a Microsoft Reader icon on the Word toolbar so you can save your document as a Lit file.

NEW ABBYY PDF Transformer Pro v2.0.1147* - converts doc, rtf, txt and html to/from PDF.
megaupload ~ mediafire
ABBYY keygen file (Replaced duff keygen with actual keygen. *headdesk*)
megaupload ~ (others up later)
txt2latex* converts pdfs to txt, pdb and html. (Tip - always make sure 'Write Extra' is set to 'New line' or you could end up with one solid block of text for the whole book. Not fun to read.) (Requires Java.) Just doubleclick on the 'executable JAR file' and start converting.

WordMagus* converts doc, rtf, htm, mht(mhtml doc), html, mhtml, xml, txt, and wri(Windows write) into doc, html, mht, rb, rtf, txt or xml by adding choices to your rightclick menu. (Once set up, you do not need to start the software up to convert.)
(Tip - converting from any sort of web page is messy, as all of the code remains. But, it's a quick and nifty way to convert into a webpage, say, if you hated all the crappy code MSWord piles on, when all you want to do is add line/paragraph breaks through a lengthy document before cutting and pasting it into a pre-formatted webpage.)

Lit2html.dmg - For Mac. In order for this to work, the ConvertLIT binary must be in the invisible /bin folder on your boot drive, which will ordinarily require an admin password. To use, first copy the code, then open the Script Editor and paste in the code, and save it as an application. From that point on, you should be able to drag a .lit file onto your new application and have it "exploded" into a new folder containing the component JPEG images, HTML files, and Open eBook file.

convertlit18src.zip - The source code for Convert LIT and associated library. This should compile cleanly on Linux and *BSD, and should be easily portable.
megaupload ~ mediafire ~ my webspace
PalmDocConverter195.dmg - converts plain text, rtf, rtfd, html, doc > PalmDoc; PalmDoc > plain text
